A SOUTH AFRICAN sexual predator, who raped a Zimbabwean woman and several other women including a 74-year-old, has been sentenced to three life prison terms.
Motsepane Lolo Madigoe, 40, will also serve 76 years following his conviction.
South African Police Services (Saps) spokesperson for Limpopo Province, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, welcomed the sentence.
"The Limpopo Division of High Court in Polokwane have once more permanently removed a sexual predator, for multiple rapes, assaults, kidnapping and house-breakings with the intent to commit crime unknown to the State among other offences respectively," said Ledwaba in a statement.
"The provincial commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has welcomed the court outcome pointing out that this will serve as a deterrent to would-be rapists.”
Madigoe's reign of terror started from June 10, 2015.
“The accused continued with the other horrendous acts until his arrest which happened after being positively linked to 10 offences through a DNA analysis which was not contested during the trial,” Ledwaba said.
Madigoe was also charged with housebreaking, assault and kidnapping.
