TENAX produced their best performance so far this season to cause a big upset against ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga stadium yesterday.

A priceless goal by Panashe Mutasa was all Tenax FC needed to collect their second win this season.

Tenax’s match winning goal came  against the run of play as Mutasa finished a swift counter attacking move that caught the ZPC Kariba defence napping in the 67th minute.

ZPC had controlled the match but came short where it mattered most with their strike force of Moses Ndemera and Newman Sianchali taking turns to miss the opportunities that came their way.

The defeat started to ring bells in the ZPC camp as some supporters called for the sacking of coach Godfrey Tamirepi.

The now under pressure Tamirepi admitted that he is a worried man after the game.

“When one looses a game obvious it’s a worrisome thing …we are dropping points when we are supposed to be collecting them,”said Tamirepi

Asked if his job is still safe Tamirepi said it’s up to the club’s leadership to decide but he will remain focused to turn around the team’s fortunes.

Tenax coach Shadreck Mugurasave said he was happy for his players but was  surprised with the ZPC Kariba’s lackluster display.

“I’m happy with the performance of my players away from home and will fight to remain in the league before challenging for championship next season. I have to admit though that I was surprised by ZPC performance, they underrated us and I’m glad my boys took full advantage,” said Mugurasave.

The win moved Tenax out of the relegation zone and into 13th position on nine points from as many matches while ZPC Kariba are 14th on seven points.
