The company POWERTEL Communications (Pvt) Ltd (PowerTel), is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zesa Holdings. PowerTel operations were approved by the Ministry of Mines and Energy in accordance with the provisions of the Electricity Act.
The registered office of PowerTel Communications is located at 10th Floor Kopje Plaza, Number 1 Jason Moyo Avenue, Harare. PowerTel is a licensed Internet Access Provider Class A (IAP Class A).
Since its inception in 1999, the company has focused on the provision of data communications infrastructure services through the use of cable, wireless and power line communication technologies and is set to venture into fixed and mobile VOIP in 2012. As a dynamic player in the telecommunications industry, PowerTel Communications focuses its energies on the high-growth data communications market.
The company has continued to expand its presence into greater Harare, greater Bulawayo, Mutare, Masvingo, Kadoma, Kwekwe, Gweru, Bindura, Rusape, Marondera, Plumtree, Beitbridge, Gwanda and Chinhoyi.
