THREE Harare men tried to kill a local businessman over an unspecified matter.
Ronald Mpopoma (38), Trevor Chigumba (40) and Fungayi Razawu (58) appeared before Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje facing attempted murder charges.
They were remanded in custody to October 22, and advised to approach the High Court for bail.
Allegations are that on September 12 this year, the trio parked their vehicle, a BMW X6 at Lot 5 Spitzkop, Harare together with their unknown accomplices who were driving a Toyota Prado.
They confronted the complainant Blessed Runesu who was with his driver Rueben and cousin Brian Dube.
The court heard that the trio blocked Runesu's vehicle from both ends before Mpopoma disembarked from one of the cars and fired two shots towards Runesu's Range Rover.
Runesu's driver manoeuvered the car away from the attackers, and drove at high speed to ZRP Dzivarasekwa where they filed a police report.
Investigations led to the men’s arrest and the recovery of two double barreled shotguns and a 12-bore Mossberg which was used to commit the offence.
