Sweswe out to rectify conversion rate

SHEASHAM coach Lizwe Sweswe hopes his side will rectify their chance conversion rate, which he admits has been the team’s Achilles heel.

Facing Triangle this afternoon, the newboys are in a tough relegation dogfight, with 30 points on their tally. Triangle, have also been a pale shadow of themselves as they sit on 16th position with 29 points.

And Sweswe is the first to admit his team’s conversion rate has been their main weakness.

They lost 1-0 in their most recent match at the hands of Caps United, a results which left them in a precarious position as the league slowly glides towards the end.

“We are coming from a loss, and this means we have to win this match at all costs,” Sweswe told NewsDay Sport yesterday.

“Last time we conceded on the transition of play. We responded by creating a lot of chances which we failed to convert.

“But we have worked [hard] on that area, and I hope we are going to get a positive response tomorrow [today].

“At this point, we can’t to drop points because the games are getting fewer by each day. We have to pick up maximum points in each and every remaining match.”

What makes this match exciting is that, Sheasham’s former coach John Nyikadzino is part of Triangle’s technical team as the assistant coach.

Nyikadzino will undoubtedly, be hoping to inflict pain on his former paymasters when they meet.

A win will see them, move out of the relegation zone, but Sheasham will not make it that easy for them because they are in a similar predicament.
