Mbeu's former backing vocalist Daisy, launches solo career

Daisy Busi Zigode

After a year spent honing her skills as a backing vocalist for Mbeu in the Mhodzi Tribe, Daisy Busi Zigode has embarked on a solo career.

Currently working on a single titled Nyarara, Daisy credits her time with Mbeu for equipping her with the skills and confidence to pursue her own path.

"I worked with Mbeu from last year's October until this October," she said.

"Working with him exposed me to a whole other side of the music industry that I wasn't previously aware of."

"The music industry is tough," she continued. "It demands patience, endurance, and consistency. I'm happy to have reached this point, and I'm optimistic about a bright future in the arts."

Daisy attributes her decision to pursue a solo career to her mother's unwavering support.

"She's my number one fan," Daisy said.

"She's always believed in me, even when I doubted myself. My mom is the source of my inspiration. She constantly pushed me to take this leap and be true to myself."

Feli Nandi, another former member of Mbeu's band who launched a successful solo career, serves as an example for Daisy. Nandi has become one of the country's most prominent female musicians.
