The singer, who on Thursday broke a three-year sabbatical, said she had been occupied with the Bible and has also been attending to her son for the past three years.

Her return was announced with the release of a 10 track album titled Jehovha Chuvah which is now on the market.

Jehovha Chuvah, which translates to the Lord of my salvation, is the artist’s third offering following her debut project Nyasha released in 2008 and Mufaro Wangu (2011).

Marowa told Standardlife&style that she believed her new offering should earn her a place among the top gospel artistes.

“The reason I decided to take a break from music was that I had to look after my son, plus I am now a pastor,” said Marowa.

“I would like to see people growing spiritually through my music, especially this album, as I took enough time preparing it.

“I have always longed to minister in every aspect, so being a pastor is an avenue God opened for me to spread the gospel unlimited.” The Ndinouya singer said the album was produced by Lyton Ngolomi of Lyton Studios.

Some of the songs on the album are Jehovah Chuvah, the title track in which she urges people to serve “a living God who speaks, sees, hears and fights battles for his people”.

Zvaitika is another song that is likely to be well-received as it is a celebration tune that strengthens newly weds.

Other songs that make up the album include Jesu Mufudzi Wangu, Zimbabwe Tsvaga Jesu, Mwari Muneni,We Raise Our Voices and I Will Never Give Up.

Olinda, who is endowed with a good voice, started off as a backing vocalist for the award-winning gospel artist Kudzi Nyakudya and later on for Rumbidzai Zvirikuzhe before going solo.

The artiste is also a qualified journalist and once had a stint as a reporter at Spirit Embassy-owned Miracle TV.
