Police have launched a manhunt for a 44-year-old Mberengwa man who allegedly murdered his stepdaughter after she had intervened in a family dispute.

Aaron Moyo of Maromo village under Chief Mataga faces charges of fatally stabbing Tariro Shumba (21).

According to police on March 17 this year, Moyo had misunderstanding with his wife Colleta Ncube (38) after he insisted on sleeping outside.

Shumba, who was sleeping in another room, woke up and tried to resolve the quarrel but Moyo got incensed and picked a heavy log, which he used to hit her several times.

The deceased and her mother managed to escape, but Moyo followed them in hot pursuit now armed with a knife.

He allegedly stabbed Shumba all over the body and she died before reaching the hospital.
