AMH arts journalists setting the bar high

AMH publishes NewsDay, The Standard, Zimbabwe Independent, Southern Eye and operates Heart & Soul Broadcasting Services (HStv).

ALPHA MEDIA HOLDINGS (AMH), the largest privately-owned media house in Zimbabwe is dominating the National Arts Merit Awards (Namas), Print Media category for the forthcoming event set for February 24 at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo.

AMH publishes NewsDay, The Standard, Zimbabwe Independent, Southern Eye and operates Heart & Soul Broadcasting Services (HStv).

Its reporters Sindiso Dube (Standard) and Sharon Zebra (NewsDay) will battle for honours with Mthabisi Tshuma of Chronicle for the Outstanding Journalist Print category at the 22nd edition of the awards.

The nominations for Zebra and Dube follow their incisive news coverage of diverse arts and culture stories.

From Heart & Soul, Khumbulani Muleya will battle for honours with  Plot Mhako (Earground) and Jonathan Mbiriyamveka (Gem Nation) for the Outstanding Online Media category.

The Namas are the most prestigious awards presented annually by the arts mother body, National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) designed to recognise outstanding achievements within the arts sector.

Running under the theme #Kwan22, the Namas also provide a world-class platform for the celebration of Zimbabwe’s finest artists.
