Zvishavane avails housing stands

Council also notified stakeholders and residents about plans to construct a chrome-smelting plant stand in Zvishavane.

Zvishavane Town Council has released over 50 housing stands to residents on the housing waiting list, but on a first come first served basis.

This is revealed in a notice released on Tuesday.

The stands are at Maglass area (30 stands), Kandodo (11), Nil (14), Birthday (7) and Hillview (2).

Stands at Maglass cost US$27 per square metre, Kandodo US$30, US$25 at  Nil, Birthday US$15 per square metre US415 att Hillview.

"First preference would be given to those applicants with full purchase price and better payment terms,” the notice reads.

Council also notified stakeholders and residents about plans to construct a chrome-smelting plant stand in Zvishavane.

"Notice is given that in terms of section 152 of the Urban Councils Act Chapter 29:15, Zvishavane Town Council intends to sell stand number 2389 measuring approximately 220 000 square metres in extent to SinoZim Union Smelting for the purposes of construction of a Chrome smelting and processing plant," read the notice.

"Copy of the Zvishavane Town council resolution and the detailed terms and conditions of the proposal will be open for inspection during normal business hours at the office of the town secretary.

“Any person wishing to make objections or representations relating to the proposal sale of land may lodge objections in writing to the town secretary at town house."
