Gold panners kill colleague in dispute

THREE illegal miners allegedly killed their colleague in a dispute over gold in Shamva on Sunday.

Mashonaland Central province deputy police spokesperson Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha confirmed the death of Collins Makebo (42).

“I can confirm a murder case in Shamva, where three suspected murderers killed Makebo in a gold dispute near Tiperary Bar in Shamva,” Chikasha said.

“Only one suspect was identified as Kudzi and the duo is still to be identified.”

It is further alleged that the trio vanished leaving the now-deceased in a pool of blood.

A Good Samaritan took Makebo to hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon admission.

Police warned people to desist from violence and carrying dangerous weapons “because the wrath of the law will pounce on them”.
