The deceased was identified as Sindiso Mkwebu from Nketa high-density suburb in Bulawayo. The suspect is Mehluli Moyo from 2 Hopoplan village under, Chief Bunini Somabula in Gweru.

“On August 12 at 10pm, Moyo was drinking beer at Mamdlongwa bottlestore, Khayanyama, Filabusi. He had a misunderstanding with Mkhwebu over a girlfriend and the two engaged in a fistfight. The suspect realised that he was being overpowered,” the acting police spokesperson said.

The suspect reportedly then fled to his house and returned armed with a knife and stabbed Mkhwebu once on the lower left side of the abdomen.
