5 Zimbos honoured for ethical leadership

Alban Mandeya, a senior teacher at Wadzanai Primary School, will be recognised alongside Gracias Zhou, Francis Mhangwa, Stewart Magaya and Benediate Bakasa for ethical leadership in their different professional capacities.

FIVE Zimbabweans are set to be honoured for ethical leadership at the Accountability Lab Zimbabwe (ALZ)’s Integrity Icon Summit and Awards Ceremony set for tomorrow in Harare.

The event, now in its third edition, seeks to honour and recognise individuals who exemplify the values of honesty, personal responsibility and ethical leadership.

Alban Mandeya, a senior teacher at Wadzanai Primary School, will be recognised alongside Gracias Zhou, Francis Mhangwa, Stewart Magaya and Benediate Bakasa for ethical leadership in their different professional capacities.

Bakasa, the acting district social services officer for Harare Central, is being recognised for leading interventions towards eradicating child sexual abuse, domestic violence and drug abuse in Epworth.

Mhangwa, a registrar at the immigration offices in Harare who has served for over 30 years, is widely respected for his integrity and commitment to shunning corruption in all forms.

Magaya, a processing officer at the Civil Registry Department in Mutare, and Zhou, a Human Resources officer based at the Primary and Secondary Education ministry offices in Gweru, won the respect of their colleagues for honesty and integrity-driven work ethic.

In a statement, ALZ said the importance of integrity and ethical leadership could not be understated.

“The celebration of Integrity Icons extends beyond this summit, aiming to identify, celebrate, and connect honest public servants,” ALZ said.

“By highlighting their stories, ALZ strives to empower individuals and institutions to lead ethically and contribute to the building of an open, inclusive, and accountable society.”
