Whizkid seeks financial assistance

Leeroy Matunzini attained six units in this year’s Grade 7 examinations at Emganwini Primary School in the city.

A BULAWAYO family from Nketa high-density suburb is appealing for financial assistance for its brilliant member to further his studies after excelling in the 2023 Zimsec Grade 7 examinations.

Leeroy Matunzini attained six units in this year’s Grade 7 examinations at Emganwini Primary School in the city.

In an interview with Southern Eye yesterday, Matunzini’s grandmother Priscilla Mlotshwa said the child’s parents were struggling to make ends meet. The parents survive on menial jobs and Mlotshwa said the piece work was sometimes scarce due to the economic challenges in Zimbabwe.

“Leeroy’s parents have been struggling to pay for his primary level education, but he has done so well. We are appealing to sponsors who are willing to pay for him to continue with his studies.

“His parents do not have permanent jobs and we are failing to cater for his education.

“We thought of reaching out to the public so that they may assist us to fulfil his dreams,” Mlotshwa said.
