A Harare man has been charged with rape after he allegedly abused a 10-year-old mentally challenged girl.
David Adamson (36) from Mabvuku was remanded in custody to September 9 for routine remand by magistrate Marehwanazvi Gofa last week.
It is alleged that on 7 August this year Adamson forced himself on the minor.
The minor had been left by her mother at her neighbour’s residence where Adamson is a tenant.
It is alleged that Adamson raped the minor in the toilet.
The offence came to light when the mother discovered that her daughter was having trouble walking.
