A 33-year-old man from Mazowe allegedly raped a girl aged five and gave her a dollar to buy her silence.
The matter came to light at the Bindura regional magistrates courts yesterday where Denis Marodza (33) was not asked to plead to the charge.
Prosecutor Edward Katsvairo alleged that on October 4 the suspect saw children playing and approached them.
He asked the complainant to accompany him to a nearby plot and she refused.
Marodza dragged the girl to a nearby bush where he raped her.
He gave her a dollar to buy her silence.
The girl was seen crying by a passerby who came to her rescue and a police report was filed.
