
A 36 year-old man has been sentenced to ten years in jail for contravening the Railways Act.
The convict Edison Chidanzenzi (36) was found guilty and convicted when he appeared before Harare magistrate Ruth Moyo.
The complainant was the state represented by Sharelight Ncube from National Railways of Zimbabwe, Security Camp, Harare.
Prosecutor Nomsa Kangara told the court that on February 15 this year, Chidanzenzi went to NRZ premises, NCC Repair Siding area and stole four coach screws, one wagon pin, one wagon brake block and three wagon offcuts .
Chidanzenzi was spotted by Ncube.
Upon his arrest, the suspect was found with the stolen NRZ property.
He was escorted to the police for further management.
