A HARARE woman last week sought a protection order against her husband accusing him domestic abuse and threatening to kill her.
Kumbirai Matimbe alleged that her husband Lloyd Mavhondo was in the habit of physically assaulting her.
“My husband beats me with broken glasses and l sustained some injuries,” she told civil court magistrate Meenal Narotam.
“These days he is staying at his girlfriend’s house and whenever he comes home he beats me seriously and he is always drunk.”
Matimbe accused her husband of also being in a habit of insulting her calling her a prostitute and a witch.
She said Mavhondo accused her and his mother in law of bewitching his child.
Mavhondo denied the charges, before accusing his wife of having extra-marital affairs.
“She used to teach at Mapahwu Primary School in Hurungwe where she did not allow me to visit,” he submitted.
