BLACK Rhinos gaffer Saul Chaminuka was red-carded in an ill-tempered nil-all draw with Green Fuel at Bata stadium yesterday.

The army-side remain at the bottom of the PSL standings, with 24 points on their tally as the league slowly glides towards the end.

In this one, they showed so much hunger especially in the first half, with Lot Chiwunga and Garikai Dematsika missing sitters in the early minutes of the game.

Green Fuel, however, started the match in high tempo, but Black Rhinos seized control on the seventh minute, with Chiwunga missing their first chance from close range.

The Ethanol Boys got the first chance on the 27th minute and James Nguluve's powerful effort went over the bar, with the goalie at his mercy.

Black Rhinos coach Saul Chaminuka was then red-carded on the half hour mark for continually remonstrating against referee Tichaona Tigere.

That was shortly before Garikai Dematsika was brought down in the box by Raymond Uchena in the box, but referee Tigere ignored it.

There was nothing to write home about in the second half, except for one opportunity that could have given Green Fuel the elusive win.

Second half substitute, Washington Mapuwa missed a sitter, when he was picked unmarked inside the box by Honest Moyo but the former missed the target by inches.

Green Fuel gaffer Rodwell Dhlakama was satisfied with the result, saying they were still in the right direction.

"In the first half, they dominated play and they created so many opportunities but they failed to convert," Dhlakama said.

"We managed to absorb the pressure and the few changes made us better. We got chances but failed to convert.

"It happens in football. Sometimes, we create so many chances, but fail to score and fail to get a win and get a point.

"From where we are coming, after three defeats and then a win against Craneborne Bullets, this point against Rhinos means we are in the right direction.

"Getting a point at this juncture means a lot, our target is to get 40 points until the season ends."

Black Rhinos assistant coach Chris Mwanza blamed his men's poor conversion rate.

"It was a crucial match for us we really wanted the points, it's just unfortunate we had to settle for a point but that's football we go back to the drawing board," Mwanza said in his post match reaction.
