Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side TelOne FC are set to unveil former Dynamos coach Herbert Maruwa as their new coach to replace fired Tendai Chikuni.

Chikuni was kicked out last week in response to the team's slow start to the season.

The WiFi boys are currently on 14th position on the log standings with 11 points from 11 rounds of matches.

They have won two matches so far.

Reports yesterday suggested that the club have managed to convince Harare City coach Maruwa to take over at the topflight returnees.

Maruwa who was fired at Dynamos last year, is enjoying a whirlwind start to the Zifa Northern Region Division One after his team dropped just two points so far this season.

The Sunshine Boys are unbeaten in their opening eight games, winning seven to top the log standings.

Maruwa is expected to start work for the Gweru based side this weekend when they travel to Ngezi Platinum Stars to take on the defending league champions.

An impeccable source told NewsDay that the decided to pull the trigger on Chikuni due to poor results, with the 2-0 home defeat to promoted Chegutu Pirates, proving to be the proverbial last straw that broke the camel's back.

Assistant coach Chasten Gondonga is holding fort, for now.

"The new coach will be unveiled tommorow (today) and baring any last minute changes, its Herbert Maruwa. He has been the target after missing out on Saul Chaminuka," the source said
