
Munondida Foundation and Zodwa Mkandla Foundation successfully held their annual charity golf day last week, raising funds for underpriviledge students and support for people living with disabilities.
The event was held on February 20 at the Royal Harare Golf Club.
The initiatives aim was to raise funds for quality education, empowerment for teen mothers (Munondida Foundation), school dropouts and electric wheelchairs to assist people with disabilities (Zodwa Mkandla Foundation).
"Munondida Foundation and Zodwa Mkandla Foundation partnered on life skills, to make life easier to disabled people by providing them with electric wheelchair to make it easier in everything they will be doing and helping them endure change as well as giving them hope," founder of Munondida Foundation consultant director and board member of Zodwa Mkandla Foundation Bernice Bore said.
She added that they provide schools fees for the school dropouts,teen mothers, taking them back to school to enable them to achieve their goals and helping them in behavioural change.
"At Munondida Foundation, our vision is to accelerate empowerment towards quality adolescent life and committed to reducing teen pregnancies and promoting healthy lifestyles among young people and dietry for the teen mothers and their babies.
"We have partnered with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to provide comprehensive education and resources to students, not for teen pregnancy but against teen pregnancies.
"So we discuss topics mainly on sexual reproductive health rights and we will be escorted by an officer from a district department of social work to the schools," she said.

Zodwa Mkandla Foundation empowers women with life skills and pay schools fees for the vulnerable people, teen mothers and they have an accelerated programme in which they assist people in University.
They have the B Best Campaign which is a scholarship program that identifies highly talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds and pays their schools from form 1-4 and form 5-6.
The organisation dedicates 70% of funds received under this program for form 1-4 and 30% from form 5-6.
Munondida Foundation founder Bernice Bore said that they partnered with Zodwa Mkandla Foundation because she was once a teen mother and Zodwa was raised by a teen mother so she got a heart for teen mothers to help them not to go through difficulties.
