Ngoni Stadium ready in one month – MWOS FC

MWOS FC chairperson Cleyton Arimoso revealed that renovations at the club’s stadium which have been going on since November last year are nearing completion.

The newly-promoted Norton-based side MWOS FC is hoping to use their home ground Ngoni Stadium in the next one month as they compete in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League this season.

MWOS FC chairperson Cleyton Arimoso revealed that renovations at the club’s stadium which have been going on since November last year are nearing completion.

“As MWOS FC we only need a month to make sure that Ngoni Stadium will be ready for use. After that everything will be in the hands of the Premier Soccer League officials to give us the green light to use our home ground,” the club chairperson Arimoso said.

Arimoso also spoke about the team’s targets in their debut campaign ahead of their season opener against Bulawayo giants Highlanders at Baobab Stadium their adopted home ground this afternoon.

“We have set ourselves a target of avoiding relegation considering that we are the newcomers. The main idea is to remain playing in the Premier Soccer League.

“Our technical team is well aware that our aim is to be in the topflight league and nothing more than that.

“Early this year we bought the franchise of ZPC Hwange to be in the Premier League. We started our preseason preparations very late and it’s a disadvantage to our team, but this should not be an excuse for failing to perform well

“We are expecting to have a good game in our first match against Highlanders,” he said.

MWOS FC coach Lloyd “Samaita” Mutasa, who has been in the trenches with the club from the Northern Region Division One since 2023 is happy to play in the top flight league, especially facing Bosso in their first match in the competition.

“There is no big or small team in football. This is the reason why we are in the same league. We are at par before the match and the result will be seen after the game. As MWOS we play to protect the badge of our club. Every match is tough and we take every game as it comes," Mutasa said.

“The players are ready to play in the league and whoever we select will be able to do a great job for us. From this match football fans should expect great talent to emerge; that is the Chafas [Devon], Mukambas [Denver] and Magorimbos [Thomas] of the new generation.”
