Makanda believes anything is possible

Makanda worked at Marist Brothers Secondary School in Dete as the school’s secretary from January 2015 to March last year.

Thirty two-year old Petronella Makanda is a member of the Women Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCoZ) Hwange Chapter as well as the  Greater Hwange Resident’s Trust.

Makanda studied at Fatima High School in Lupane district in Matabeleland North province.

She attained a National Certificate in Information Technology in 2010 at Don Bosco Technical College in Hwange.

Makanda worked at Marist Brothers Secondary School in Dete as the school’s secretary from January 2015 to March last year.

Currently Makanda is into informal trading.

“Through my walks of life and growing up from a small mining town of Hwange, I saw the hardships that young women go through, and thus I fight every day to make the young women in different communities have a better life and fully enjoy their rights,” she said.

“I believe that being part of the WCoZ has equipped me with adequate skills to advocate for a better future for other young women.”

Makanda believes that anything is possible.
