Letter to my people: Mozambique situation has exposed Ngwena

On the other hand, Ngwena’s statement as Sadc chairperson was very prescriptive.

My Dear People

Two press statements issued on the Mozambique situation by South Africa and Zimbabwe, on behalf of Sadc, were very instructive in terms of their content and form.

It was quite clear which country truly subscribes to the principles of democracy and which one is led by a cabal comprising disciples of a kakistocracy.

For its part, South Africa showed empathy in the wake of dozens of people killed since the protests erupted following the disputed October 9 elections.

Pretoria called on all parties to commit to urgent dialogue “that will heal the country and set it on a new political and development trajectory”.

It also urged all the protagonists to exercise restraint and there was no hint of bias in the statement.

The South African statement resonated with the ones issued by the United Nations secretary general’s office and the Africa Union, which all emphasised the need for dialogue to end the violence.

On the other hand, Ngwena’s statement as Sadc chairperson was very prescriptive.

He told the disgruntled Mozambicans that the “ruling by the country’s top electoral court, which upheld Frelimo party’s victory, completes and thus exhausts all lawful processes on determining election results, in line with that country’s national laws, and in keeping with Sadc’s election guidelines and expectations”.

He said he expected all parties to the electoral process to abide by the decision of the Constitutional Council of Mozambique, which he claimed should provide a constitutional way forward for the country.

You might remember that Ngwena was the first to congratulate the Frelimo candidate Daniel Chapo.

Ahead of the elections, there were also allegations that his ruining party was clandestinely assisting Frelimo to steal the elections.

Those that expected Ngwena to be neutral in the Mozambique election dispute still don’t appreciate the character of the cabal that staged that coup against Gushungo.

The cabal has no regard for democracy at all.

Besides, Ngwena has no moral authority to criticise rigging by anyone in the region given how he was re-elected a year ago!

Munopengaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I recently stumbled on a DeadBC interview featuring the first family and focusing on how they celebrated Christmas Day.

I do understand that they were trying to humanise Ngwena and Dr Amai II, but for some of us PhD holders with the capacity to read between the lines it came out as an unmitigated disaster.

Dr Amai II showcased her acting skills as she pretended to be preparing a traditional meal for her grandchildren.

She also took her audience for fools when she claimed that her husband’s favourite dishes were matemba (dried kapenta) and sour milk. Kikikikikikiki

Munopengaaaaaaa

They think Zimbabweans don’t know about their opulence. No amount of propaganda and acting on poorly scripted DeadBC dramas will mask how self-centred this regime is.

There is a lot of agitation because people have realised that they were sold a dummy in 2017.

The Lacoste cabal’s undisputed legacy is looting, primitive accumulation of wealth and the revival of tribal politics in Zimbabwe.

Some war veterans, who were hoodwinked into supporting the coup that was disguised as a restoration of the legacy of the liberation struggle, have now seen the light.

Some of the prominent ones like musician Clive Malunga have been recording videos and audios denouncing Ngwena’s third term bid.

Malunga in particular has vowed to lead the resistance against moves to remove presidential term limits.

I can tell you that there are many credible war veterans that share those sentiments and in 2025 more will be coming out in the open against Ngwena’s 2030 project.

Just watch and enjoy history repeating itself kikikiki

One of things I warned you about in the run-up to the coup was that the Lacoste cabal would reverse the land reform programme that was gallantly championed by Gushungo.

They started two years ago by making commitments to pay the former farmers US$3.5 billion as compensation for improvements on the seized farms.

Some of the former farmers have been allowed to return to their farms.

Then on December 20, Ngwena launched a programme to give title deeds to beneficiaries of the land reform programme, which means they will now be able to sell their pieces of land or use it as collateral for loans.

I am not opposed to that as our farmers will now be able to fully utilise their land and help end the cycle of poverty that has made over nine million of our people reliant on food handouts.

My biggest problem is with the people that have been put in charge of the title deeds programme.

One of them is Kudakwashe Tagwirei, who rose to prominence at the height of command agriculture, a grand looting scheme that was used by the Lacoste group to finance its power grab.

I foresee a situation where some vultures will use the programme to dispossess vulnerable farmers of their pieces of land.

As I said, this group has an insatiable appetite for wealth accumulation and they have set their eyes on looting land as their last supper.
