South Africa based musician Precious “Mr P” Hanya has released an Afro fusion 12-track album titled Mixed Bag that features several artistes that include the once popular Dino Mudondo.

The Afro jazz artist described his album recorded at Underground  Studios in Johannesburg, SA as an early Christmas present to his fans.

“It definitely is an Xmas present to music lovers with 12 tracks namely Nyaya DzeRudo which features Mudondo, Purezha (ft Andy Muridzo), Baba naMai (ft Gwindi President), Soft Life, Dera, Feelings, Kare Kare, Go Tell Your Mama, Swedera, Tezvara and Kangoma,” he said.

“The album is a mixed bag hence the title. It carries various messages about everyday life and has different genres to cater for a wider audience. The idea was to bridge the gap between old school and new school. That’s why I roped in Mudondo who represents the old schools.”

Mr P told Standard Style that his music chronicles day-to-day people life experiences.

“I sing about everyday experiences  that anyone or everyone can relate to.  It comes naturally to write about real life issues that go on around me  day in day out. I use music to give advice, rebuke and  entertain,” he said.

“Baba naMai is my favourite song. It’s an appreciation of the love parents show their children as they grow up. Soft Life talks about young people who are struggling to make ends meet. Dera encourages parents to discipline their children and Feelings talks about marital problems.”

Mixed Bag will be available on iTunes, Distro and CDs

Mr P said he collaborated several artistes on Mixed Bag produced by Isaac “Iyck D” Sande to maximise his capabilities and reach a wide audience.

Iyck D was also in guitar and drums.

Other guitarists were Nicholas Musonza and Richard Chiadzwa. Obert Gomba was also a drummer.

Former Jah Prayzah’s backing vocalist Pamela “Gonyeti” Zulu backed Mr P on his latest offering.

Mr P recorded his first album The Beginning in 2013 and the second album Return in 2019.
