Chivaviro, Makhabane drop collabo

RENOWNED and award-winning gospel musician Togarepi Chivaviro has dropped a song, which features South African gospel star Sipho Makhabane.

The song titled Famba Usacheuka is already making waves on the gospel music scene a few days after its release.

Chivaviro and Makhabane held recent joint shows in Harare and other towns before getting into the studio for the collaboration.

Chivaviro, who is currently in the country, told Standard Style that the collaboration with Makhabane was long overdue.

“This is an early Christmas present to all our fans and gospel music lovers,” he said.

“I have worked with a number of musicians among them the late Oliver Mtukudzi and it has been my dream to do something with Sipho Makhabane.

“I am happy that we have done and released a song together which I believe will change people's lives.”

The track was sung in Shona and IsiZulu.

Chivaviro, the man behind the hit song Ebenezer-Tiri Munyasha has done a lot of collaborations with local musicians among them Mathias Mhere, Dorcas Moyo and Allan Chimbetu.
