ZIMBABWE’S premier festival Victoria Falls Carnival will this year expand its reach and horizon by branching into Zambia.
The organisers of the jamboree exclusively revealed to Standard Style that the festival, which has been in existence for the past 11 years in Zimbabwe, will this year extend its reach into Livingstone, a Zambian city just 10km to the north of the Zambezi River.
The carnival is scheduled for April 28 to 30 with the main events happening at the lush grounds at Elephant Hills Resort and Conference Centre and stand-alone music experiences happening at the Five-Star Radisson Blu Resort in Livingstone.
The Carnival Director Craig Bright revealed that this year’s event will also be hosted in Livingstone, but not taking away the traditional Victoria Falls and Zimbabwean flair.
“For the first time in its history, the Vic Falls Carnival will cross the Zambezi to include the Zambian side in a host of standalone music experiences at the beautiful, 5-star Radisson Blu Resort, reaching more fans and creating a bigger festival footprint than ever before.
“The spirit of the Vic Falls Carnival remains the same — beautiful locations, competitive packages, a wide selection of artistes from across the continent, and uniting music and adventure fans from around the world in a celebration of all things Africa,” said Bright.
Quizzed on the rumours that the festival will this year move to Livingstone due to the high cost of service providers in Zimbabwe, Bright responded: “The festival remains in Zimbabwe, a country that has been the theme of the festival for 11 years, and the organizers' love for the country remains unchanged.”
Organisers have so far announced South Africa’s Black Motion, DJ Rimo, DJ Nitefreak, and Anita Jaxson as the performers with more acts going to be announced.

“We will be announcing a host of new artistes in the weeks to follow from across the continent as well as an international headliner,” he said.
“The 11th edition of VFC promises to be a vibrant and versatile musical experience, not to be missed.”
Last year’s headline acts DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Shasha didn’t turn up for the festival which led to the organisers initiating the arrest of Maphorisa and Kabza De Small for breach of contract.
