VERSATILE artist Lady Tshawe has embarked on a Back to School with Lady Tshawe initiative aimed at giving back to the community.
The initiative which comes ahead of the opening of schools, will see Tshawe collecting and donating stationery, toiletries, sanitary wear to support learners as they return to school on August 4.
“It’s all about giving back to the community and I believe this is one way of doing so in my small little way. I will be giving stationery, sanitary wear and backpacks to house those essentials as pupils go to school.
“I have always wanted to play a role in giving back to the community, since I didn’t have the means to do big like paying school fees for kids, I opted for this. I know these small efforts will help alleviate some sort of stress to parents and students as they prepare for school,” she told Standard Style.
Tshawe has invited partners for collaborations for the initiative.
“I am calling partners to join and collaborate in the initiative, I can’t do it alone and for the project to reach more people and help more pupils I need partners,” she said.
“Individuals are also free to engage me and give whatever they have, we are not limiting donations to what I have mentioned and if one wishes to give more than what we mentioned they are free to do so.”
