Comedy lovers are in for an early Christmas treat next Saturday when Zimbabwe-born and United States-based comedian Alfred Kainga performs at a show dubbed Home Coming Ha-ha-Harare at the Reps Theatre.
According to organisers of the show Xtratime Entertainment, coming be supported by local comedians Tinaye Chiketa, Ian Phiri and Tany Alex.
This is would be the third that the Mbare-born comedian would be performing in Zimbabwe, having been in the country for a sold-out show in 2018.
“Alfred was last in Zimbabwe in 2018 for a show and he is super excited to reunite with his Zimbabwean fans and fellow comedians on stage,” said Tongai Mbidzo of Xtratime Entertainment.
“He has shared the stage with many comedy legends such as Bruce Bruce, Eddie Griffin, Tony Roberts and is currently on tour with New York King of Comedy, Capone.
“Alfred has worked on major stages, elite comedy clubs such as the Improv Comedy Clubs across the US, World Famous Laugh Factory in Los Angeles and many others.
“The show on Saturday will focus on Alfred’s life in Zimbabwe, how life changed for him after he moved to the US.”
Speaking from his US base, the Prince Edward High School alumnus promised fireworks.

“I am super excited to be coming back home to do a show; it’s a new show, new jokes and special guests would be there,” Kainga said.
Kainga was once described by top American comedian Kevin Hart as someone with an IT factor on a television programme Hart of the City on Comedy Central.
Mbidzo said local comedians have promised to give their best as well.
“Our Zimbabwe-based stand-up comics are super funny and ready for the stage,” he said.
“We have worked with them before and know they are ready to make Harare laugh this Christmas.”
Xtratime Entertainment has hosted international comedians in Zimbabwe and these include Ugandan Anne Kansiime, Goliaths and Goliaths, Barry Hilton, John Vlismas, Cotilda Inapo as well as local comics such as Carl Ncube, Q Dube, Doc Vikela , Baba Tencen, Farhan Esat and Learn more Jonasi.
