AFTER a year-long sabbatical, rapper Asaph is back with a brand new eight-track EP called Feed the Streets meant to satisfy the hunger of his fans.
The EP is Asaph’s first production since his split from international record label-Def Jam Africa.
"I haven't been musically active for the past few years," Asaph admitted, "So this is my chance to Feed The Streets the hip-hop they've been missing."
The title is no metaphor. Asaph explains, "'Feed The Streets' is about giving my followers the content they've been pleading for on social media. I need to put out more music and make sure I don't starve the people who love and support what I do.
"This one has more of a street, underground feel. I have Thorne Laroq hosting it, so you could even consider it a mixtape,” he said.
The EP features verses from some of Asaph's closest collaborators, including Indigo Saint, X The Lyrical Venom, Ganyaz Jr, and M.U.S.E.
"Feed the Streets" also marks the return of Asaph's signature braggadocio. "It's been a while since I just went off on a track," he says, "and I'm sure my listeners have missed that energy. This project is also an ode to me, really charging up the self-belief and determination I had when I started rapping."
Asaph’s last project was the Big Mhofu EP, which he recorded under the Def Jam Africa banner. Before he signed under Def Jam he had hits such as Like So, The Vibe is Correct, Good time, Mmabo, Back to December and many more.
