All-female jazz fiesta headlines Spitzkop Easter programme

Apart from the jazz festival, Spitzkop Leisure Centre has also lined various Easter packages including an egg hunt.

AN all-female jazz festival will headline this year’s long weekend programme at Spitzkop Leisure Centre just outside the capital in Snake Park area close to the Harare-Bulawayo Road.

Most imbibers, especially the mature ones have always had a strong affinity with jazz, which has seen most liquor outlets exclusively playing the genre either through disco or live bands.

However, at Spitzkop Leisure Centre jazz has turned out to be genre of choice with a day set aside for live bands.

As part of the Easter programme, the joint will on Easter Saturday host Wanai and The Blue Band, Soulful Leah as well as Mimie The Song bird with Those Guys Vacho.

Apart from the jazz festival, Spitzkop Leisure Centre has also lined various Easter packages including an egg hunt.

The resident band would provide entertainment during the course of the long weekend.

Spitzkop Jazz Band has become the talk of town offering a potpourri of entertainment throughout the week, ranging from live bands, which play jazz, blues and soul music, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

Takunda “TK” Maravanyika, the joint’s director told Standard Style that apart from a recreation venue with an assortment of social amenities, Spitzkop Leisure Centre boasts of a bar that provides intimate jazz music.

He said the joint offers various spirits, lagers, ciders and classic cocktails complemented by sultry live jazz.

Spitzkop Leisure Centre has become the rendezvous for soccer loving patrons as they beam foreign soccer league matches.
