Iyasa (Inkululeko Yabatsha School of Arts), Tsikirai will launch her album at the Jasen Mphepo Little Theatre in Harare.
The album showcases Tsikirai’s versatility as an artist and her deep connection to Zimbabwean cultural roots.
She describes the forthcoming album as a reflection of her musical journey.
“The album African Queen is about my journey from the time l left Zimbabwe to live in the UK and what I experienced as well as the hunger to promote my identity,” Tsikirai told Standard Style.
“By attending so many festivals, I saw how other cultures like the Nigerians and Indians preserve their cultures and identity through their dressing, how they sing in their own languages and how they promote their food and products.
“My background is Iyasa and I just carried it to the UK, at first I wasn't too sure, but after a while, l really wanted to make sure that even my own kids don't get confused about their own identity because they are in a different place.
