Sulu heads for Mutoko

Sulumani Chimbetu

Jiddim Night Club Rukanda Mutoko has brought a new lease of life to the revellers in the Eastern mining town.

The place has been a hive of activities hosting a number of musicians such as Andy Muridzo, Kinnah, Guspy Warrior, Hwindi President, Boom Berto and Khonangale just to mention a few.

Launched in December last year, the state of the art facility has enabled revellers to watch their favourite musicians performing.

On February 1, the joint hosts Sulumani Chimbetu, Boss Pumacol, T Makwikwi and Dumi Matombo.

What makes Jiddim NightClub a darling of many Mutoko revellers is their inclusion of local artistes.

Sulu who has a rich catalogue that include Sean Timba, Nhambarakishoni, Phone Yangu and Alice Mbewe, is expected to belt out the hits and track down the memory lane with his father Simon Chimbetu’s songs.

He will also sample songs from his forthcoming album to be released later this year.

The Alice Mbewe singer’s camp has promised fireworks at the show which is also part of an outreach for the new project.

Jiddim Night Club director Jivas Mudimu said they were ready for their first show of the year.

“We are ready for our first massive gig of the year, and we have also roped in our local artistes to parade their talents on the same day,” said Mudimu.

Mutoko artistes include Culture T, Masvosve, Peletic, Finboy and Kachoro are some of the locals making waves, thanks to Mudimu’s initiatives.

“By launching Jiddim Night Club in Rukanda we were simply responding to people's calls for this venue. People are just happy to have this venue,” said Mudimu.
