The National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) has partnered with Miss Deaf Zimbabwe Trust in a move to aide inclusivity of people living with disabilities.
The awards director Tinashe Kitchen said Nama always makes an effort to promote diversity, growth and innovation in the arts.
"With our theme of Afrofuturism, we believe that we have the opportunity to lead the charge into to the future of the arts in Zimbabwe and beyond.
"As such, Nama is proud to announce that this year's Nama will make deliberate efforts to include the differently abled in its programming," Kitchen said.
As such, the awards have partnered with Miss Deaf Zimbabwe Trust who will be providing sign language interpretation, performances, and model showcases for our various build-up events and the main awards ceremony."
The partnership will foster inclusion in the arts and encourage greater participation in the present and future of the arts, in line with our theme of Afrofuturism.
