Search for next Miss Teen of The Universe begins

Current Miss Teen of The Universe Victoria Ncube was named Miss Teen of The Universe Africa and Miss Elegance last year in India.

THE search for the next Miss Teen of The Universe (MTOU) has begun, launching much anticipation among the crown chasers and potential queens.

The pageant, now in its second installation, is recognised internationally and was founded by Sourav Anad, as the ultimate winner of the Zimbabwean title will go to India and battle it out with her counterparts from all over the world.

Current Miss Teen of The Universe Victoria Ncube was named Miss Teen of The Universe Africa and Miss Elegance last year in India.

Bulawayo provincial head of MTOU Zanele Moyo said they were now ready to “roll”.

“I can confidently say that our city is buzzing with anticipation and we're ready to showcase the best of our raw, grassroots talent. We're talking about a platform that will give our young people the opportunity to shine, to take center stage, and to show the world what they're made of," she said.

"Our city has always been a hub of creativity, innovation, and passion, and we're ready to take up space and make our mark on the national stage.

“We're ready to prove that Bulawayo is more than just a city it is a movement, it's a force to be reckoned with, and it's a hotbed of talent just waiting to be unleashed.

“So, get ready Zimbabwe, because Bulawayo is coming for you.”

National spokesperson for the organisation Mbulelo Mpofu said they were on the lookout for potential collaborators.

"This is an exciting time for us as we kick the ball rolling as early as possible. Our quest is to search for Zimbabwe's young beauty to represent us in India and we call upon all teens to give it a try," Mpofu said.

"We also appeal to corporates to help us with funds to smoothly operate. We are open for collaborations and partnerships and our ultimate goal is to give young women a chance to showcase their beauty, and advocate for different issues."

Midlands province have their first auditions in Gweru this week,which will be overseen by modelling legend Mavis Koslak.

Bulawayo province will follow on February 15 and Matebeleland South province on March 2.

Masvingo province will have its turn on March 8 with Harare being slated for the 15.

Matabeleland North province will hold its auditions on the same day as Harare while Manicaland will have theirs on March 8.Finals will take place in Harare.
