Kani Music delays new single release

Kani Music

Afro-jazz musician, Kanizios Msonza  says he is yet to release dates for his long awaited single.

In a statement, Kani Music, said the project has been delayed due to logistical issues.

“We have since written in response to various online partners that had expressed interest in partnering with us as we were planning on the official release distribution and promotion of our latest single, Musopero,” said Kani Music.

“As a growing brand, we appreciate our fans’ unwavering faith in Kani Music, we are a brand today because of their support, and for that reason our long awaited song is coming with a video. This is our way of saying thank you.”

Kani Music is one of the most followed jazz outfits in Kwekwe ever since the demise of legendary Bob Nyabinde.

The music outfit also weld its market authority through merchandise that includes branded caps, T-shirts and hoods, among other products.

Kani Music said they won’t leave their roots in Kwekwe, which was home to popular music outfits like Zig Zag Band and Utakataka Express.

The outfit said their forthcoming song is centred on social ills including family break-ups.

The single was recorded at Heartland Studios in Harare and produced and directed by Blessing Masanga.

The song was composed and arranged by Msonza.

“Musopero is about a man who is neglecting his family due to worldly desires,” Msonza said.

“He chases after different women, abandoning his family, an experience that subjected wife and kids to hardships.

“This song serves as a warning and offers advice to men who lose focus due to short lived happiness.”

Msonza said 2025 would be an exciting year, promising more music to come.
