Women emancipation and empowerment is the new normal and various players and organisations are championing programmes aimed at promoting this ideal.

With most African countries being largely patriarchal, women have for a long time borne the brunt of economic and social exclusion hence it is refreshing that deliberate efforts are being made to celebrate and promote women excellence.

One such initiative, is the Good Vibes Master Class, a top-drawer women excellence initiative hosted by radio and TV personality Rebecca Muchenje-Kucherera, widely known as Becky K and Audrey Chitewe, aka the Make-up Artist. This unique master class focusses on raising and fostering a generation of women that embraces and exudes amazing sophistication through their poise and general outlook.

Of this initiative Becky K told Standard Style that it is all systems go with the master class and they are happy to build wholesome women that can define their space in society.

“The Good Vibes Master Class is an apt initiative for today’s women and we are happy to be playing our part in instilling the right values in our peers,” Becky K said.

“My area of focus in this initiative is confidence coaching while my partner Audrey focusses on skin care and make up.

“A woman is as beautiful as she feels and looks and we want to bring that A game to womanhood through this tailor made initiative.

“We are quite intentional about this undertaking and it is our hope that the initiative grows beyond Harare, across Zimbabwe and into the region and even abroad.

“We are all about excellence and productivity because winning has got a lot to do with your image and how you brand yourself hence confidence building and skin care effectively contribute to that equation.”

Becky’s sidekick Audrey also highlighted that their first Master Class was in April before the recent one on December 11, which was fully subscribed.

“Our first Good Vibes Master Class was a two day programme in April 2021,” Chitewe said.

“The turnout was amazing and our guests were blown away by the programme make up where one of our speakers Pastor Grace Kapswara spoke on the wisdom of owning your throne.

“The most recent class was on the December 11, 2021 at the Meikles Hotel where our guest speaker Pastor Dorcas Chirisa from Wisdom City taught on how to become a total woman.

“Other speakers included Kudzi the FinLitBae from Old Mutual, who gave us a talk on financial intelligence and habits while Mambokadzi gave a talk on the art of bathing and owning your sexuality which was a big plus in enlightening our ladies.

“For entertainment we had performances from Prayer Soul, Tamy Moyo and In Total Band, an arrangement which kept the ladies entertained throughout the event.

“Prayer soul gave lessons on love through music, Tamy did what she knows best before In total band and DJ Sky brought the house down with some stellar performances.”

According to Becky K, the Master Class is open to all women who believe they are set for the top regardless of their current circumstances.

“We want to raise a generation of empowered women that stop at nothing to attain their dreams and we are happy that we continue getting better with each outing,” she said.

“The recent good vibes master class had an array of guests among them Pokello, Tanya the therapist, Natalie Enchantress, Alice Tagwira, Chantelle, Chiedza Kambasha, Miss Rockshade and Zeux, among others who came out to support an initiative that is led by women.

“We want our initiative to be a departure from the norm where we had almost similar women centred programmes with the same speakers.

“We are bringing the unusual in a very progressive and productive manner and we encourage all self respecting women to be part of this drive.”

Becky K thanked various partners of the programme for their support towards a women-led initiative.

“We are also happy that various corporates are also coming on board to support women empowerment programmes and we salute Meikles Hotel, Old Mutual, RHI Media, Everton Mlalazi Music, Web Pixel Designs, Ruby’s Studio, Skylake, Divine Concert Sound, Seachamd Ruolay Agency for their partnership and support. Through such support we will be able to empower and emancipate women,” she said.

Guest speaker Pastor Chirisa also saluted the initiative and encouraged the women to continue on that path.

“The success of every woman should be an inspiration to another and I want to thank the Good Vibes Master Class visionaries for this initiative,” she said.

“I enjoyed meeting with other women and seeing theme elegantly dressed and inspiring each other.

“Mighty things happen when we support and encourage each other and such programmes enlighten women to up their game.”

Pastor Chirisa’s sentiments were echoed by one of the participants Prudence, The African Hybrid, who described the Master Class initiative as grooming on steroids.

“The Good Vibes Master Class was nothing but a testimony that women nolongerask for a seat at the table, they now make their own tables,” she said.

“You don’t come out of that class without liberty and empowerment  to be the woman  you desire.

“At Good Vibes you mix and mingle without having to look at social status differences, everyone has something to learn.”

Women’s rights activist Alice Tagwira, who is also the founder of Zheera Trust and managing editor of She Glows Magazine said the master class must become the go to grooming initiative for women.

“When I arrived at the venue, I realised a tremendous transformation would happen to me mentally and physically,” Tagwira said.

“The event was well-organised. It was enriching to be around powerful women and I salute the organisersfor  gathering greatness in one place.

“This important opportunity provided that I think differently and intentionally.  I loved how the speakers touched on our beliefs,  faith, personality and  healthy lifestyle.”
