Briefs: 15-year-old gang-raped

Anesu Sebastian Jacob (31) and Panashe Chinyei ( 22) appeared before magistrate Terrence Mashaire who did not ask them to plead to the charges.

Two men from Mutoko allegedly drugged a 15-year-old girl before taking turns to rape her on Christmas Day.

The matter came to light at the Mutoko magistrates courts last week.

Anesu Sebastian Jacob (31) and Panashe Chinyei ( 22) appeared before magistrate Terrence Mashaire who did not ask them to plead to the charges.

Mashaire remanded the duo in custody to January 11 and advised them to apply to the High Court for bail.

Prosecutors alleged that the duo met the minor at Nyamuzuwe business centre and offered her a drink they had laced with some intoxicant.

She felt dizzy and became unconscious while in Jacob's car and the pair took turns to rape her.

When the victim went home, her aunt saw blood stains on her clothes and asked what had happened.

She revealed the sexual assault and a police report was filed leading to the duo's arrest.
