With the coming and going of Easter, this signifies a new season. The death and resurrection of our lord Jesus is the core of Christianity. The death and resurrection of the Son of God was the secret plan that God had all these years to restore the fall of man to His original purpose. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believed might have eternal life.John 3:16-17 (GNB)
- For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
- For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its saviour. This is the promise that we now have that after everything has been said and done we are assured of our place in heaven
Philippians 2:5-8 (GNB)
- The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had:
- He always had the nature of God, but he did not think that by force he should try to remain equal with God.
- Instead of this, of his own free will he gave up all he had, and took the nature of a servant. He became like a human being and appeared in human likeness.
- He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death--- his death on the cross.
The death of Christ signifies our old self being buried together with Christ. His death ushered our freedom. We were freed from every form of sin and slavery. Every bondage that was set against against us was nullified by His death and resurrection. The story of Christ’s death re wrote the very story of our lives. We now have power over sin. Even if sometimes flesh tells otherwise but because of His resurrection we are able to subject our worldly desires. Our spiritual is now much more powerful than our physical being. We are nolonger slaves to our selves.
Philippians 3:10-11 (GNB)
- All I want is to know Christ and to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings and become like him in his death,
- in the hope that I myself will be raised from death to life.
Deutronomy 28:3-6 (CEV)
- The LORD will make your businesses and your farms successful.
- You will have many children. You will harvest large crops, and your herds of cattle and flocks of sheep and goats will produce many young.
- You will have plenty of bread to eat.
- The LORD will make you successful in your daily work.
His resurrection gave us a new lease on life. Now we are able to claim on every original promise given unto us by God our heavenly Father. God promised us a life of good health and a life of friutfulness in what ever we set our mind to do.
God’s original plan for mankind was that humankind should enjoy life everyday. That we enjoy what we eat and have fulfilment in our careers or what we labour with our hands. Ecclesiastes 3:13 (GNB)
- All of us should eat and drink and enjoy what we have worked for. It is God’s gift.
We now celebrate our freedom in Christ because of God’s Ultimate sacrifice. This act also strengthens our faith as we now have a new hope that even though things may seem hopeless and lifeless like when Jesus was lifeless on the cross and every being of Him was being mocked and shamed. We all have times and seasons were everything is bring shame and hopelessness. But now because of the resurrection of Christ we now know that even though it might seem like nothing is changing. That our situation is hopeless and lifeless our God has a plan in motion.

His plan like the resurrection of Christ is also to resurrect our hopeless situation. Just as Our Saviour is alive so our own situation is going to rise again.
Today you can celebrate as you have been ushered into a new season. Just believe and have faith that whatever was troubling you be it sickness you can now claim your healing as the name of Jesus has been elevated above every other name and every knee shall bow done to its mentioning, with the resurrection of Christ every dark force has been defeated.Romans 8:11 (GNB)
- If the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from death, lives in you, then he who raised Christ from death will also give life to your mortal bodies by the presence of his Spirit in you. Everything that was hindering you has been cast down be it sin. You may be struggling with the sin of watching pornography, adualtary, lying tongue or coning or stealing from others. Jesus Christ can change your story.Its a new beginning and a fresh start for you.God has raised a standard against every flood. You are now undefeated. A winner man in Christ. Only believe and do not doubt. We all have been liberated and we are free. We are nolonger slaves to Sin or self. Start giving glory to God and praising Him for giving you this new beginning .
Romans 6:8-9 (GNB)
- Since we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
- For we know that Christ has been raised from death and will never die again---death will no longer rule over him.
Thus the time of Easter must bring joy to everyone. It’s more than just a long holiday for us to just meet family and friends. Rather it is the most important season which is very symbolic to everyone. To remind each and everyone of us how God loves the world. Taking what He loved the most and sacrifice inoder for you and me to have a chance of redemption. Even if its after the actual Easter holidays but let the season which we have entered be a reminder of the ultimate price paid for you salvation. After we have received Christ may we treat our salvation with so much reverence fear but being so much grateful for being given a second chance of the real life. See you next week on our next topic.
