The much-anticipated Young and Chosen Tour will kick off its inaugural African leg in Harare, featuring two of the most dynamic artists in the contemporary music scene — Afrobeats sensation Limoblaze and worship leader Joe L Barnes.
The event is set to take place at the Showgrounds East End Hall on February 21, 2025, starting at 4pm, promising an afternoon filled with uplifting melodies and heartfelt worship.
Tickets are already available for purchase at select Booties Pharmacies throughout Harare, and given the buzz surrounding the event, early acquisition is recommended to avoid disappointment.
The Young and Chosen Tour, hosted by GEC, follows the success of last year's Kingdom World Tour, which saw the renowned Maverick City Music gracing the country.
With GEC's proven track record of bringing world-class performances to Zimbabwe, fans can expect nothing short of an electrifying atmosphere as they gather to celebrate faith through music.
Event director Pastor Lyncolin Kapswara said the concert is aimed at celebrating the youth.
“The Young and Chosen Tour, which is anchored by Limo Blaze and Joe L Barnes, will be coming to Harare, Zimbabwe on February 21, 2025,” said Kapswara.
“It kicks off actually in Harare, and obviously brought to you by Events by GEC. We wanted to bring something that was young, that connects with the young people, and we believe that Limo Blaze, and Joel Barnes, are people who speak to that.”
He explained that they chose February 21 as it is a day set aside by the government for the youths
“We chose February 21 because it is the Robert Mugabe National Youth Day,” he said.
“It's a holiday, and so we also believe that that is a key part of this. As we celebrate the youth, we are giving them something that is tailor-made for them.
“So we want as many young people to come out and enjoy in an environment where there will be other young people, young, talented Zim artists, as well as these Afro beats, Christian artists, Limo Blaze, will be bringing us something fresh. So really that's the thinking behind that,” added Pastor Lyncolin Kapswara.
Limoblaze, who burst onto the music scene in 2022, has quickly made a name for himself with his unique blend of Afrobeats and Gospel.
His debut was marked by an AfroGospel showcase hosted by Reach Records, which included notable UK artists Asha Elia, Becca Fowlkes, and Anna Toria.
During this event, he released the leading single from his EP, “ireh (My Provider), featuring Happi and Lecrae a remix of the popular song by Maverick C
Joining Limoblaze is the talented Joe L Barnes, a Kentucky native who has made significant strides as a songwriter and worship leader at The Shepherd’s Tent in Covington, Georgia.
Joe L's work is characterised by its ability to inspire hope and reaffirm faith, a sentiment beautifully encapsulated in his 2020 collaboration with Maverick City, titled Promises.
This powerful anthem, co-written with a talented team including Carrington Gaines and Dante Bowe, garnered a nomination for Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year at the prestigious 2020 GMA Dove Awards. His heartfelt worship style is sure to create a profound atmosphere of reverence and joy in Harare.
