THE Copa Coca-Cola football tournament is set to run from May 24 to July 14, with the finals slated for Mandava High School in Zvishavane according to the National Association of Secondary School Heads (Nash) calendar released this week.

Rusununguko High School in Mashonaland will host the Copa Coca-Cola launch on May 15.
Copa Coca-Cola, the highlight of the Nash football season, was last year remodelled into an Under-15 competition for boys and Under-17 for girls.
Last year’s Copa Coca-Cola contest culminated in the Zimbabwe boys and girls dream teams competing at the inaugural Five-A-Side World Cup in South Africa There are two other football tournaments to be staged during the second school term with the Nash Under-17 boys tournaments scheduled to commence on June 1 and conclude on the July 19-20 weekend.
The Nash Under-20 girls will also run from June 1 up to July 26 and 27.
The Proton/Surrey Under-20 tournament is the last on the Nash football calendar beginning in late August and overlapping into the third school term.
According to a statement released by Nash head in charge of football Albert Mucheka, the association has put in place measures to curb age-cheating that continues to haunt schools tournaments in the country.

In all competitions teams will be required to produce a clear A4 photograph with the names of all 20 players, headmaster, coach, assistant coach, team manager and medic written clearly.
The photograph must be stamped and signed at the back by the school, zonal, district and provincial head in charge at every level of the competition.
A typed master team card of all 20 players’ name(s), surname(s) date of birth, ID number where applicable or birth entry number and form shall be a requirement.
Vembe High School in Beitbridge will host the Nash boys Under-17 finals while Mutare Boys High provides the platform for Nash girls Under-20 finals.
The Proton/Surrey tournament will bring the curtain down on the 2018 Nash football season at Marondera High from October 4 and 5.
