Yadah FC ……….. (2) 2 Harare City …….. (0) 0 STRUGGLING Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD) owned side Yadah FC continued with their resurgence after beating Harare City at Rufaro yesterday to revive hopes of surviving relegation this season.

Jonathan Chitereki broke the deadlock as early as the third minute from a well taken freekick before club star man Leeroy Mavunga doubled the score with a header in the 11th minute.

The latest win lifted the Genesis Mangombe coached side one place up the ladder to 16th place on the log standings with two matches remaining in the league season.

Yadah, who occupied the bottom place for the better part of the season, have now gone four matches without defeat, winning two and drawing two.

Only four points separate Yadah and Chapungu in 10 place thus putting pressure on the teams above such as Herentals, Harare City , TelOne, Triangle and Bulawayo Chiefs. Nyangombe oozed confidence after the match.

“We tried to frustrate our opponents and the match went according to our game plan. We definitely need to win our last two games to survive relegation,” he said.

“We want to concentrate on the next assignment versus Triangle and try and win the game. If we can collect maximum points, the last game against Mushowani is not going to be a difficult game,” Nyangombe added.

Harare City had an off day and failed to recover from the early set back, a brilliantly curled free kick by Chitereki soon after kick off.

Yadah continued to look dangerous each time they went forward and it was not a surprise when a Lennox Mucheto cross bounced graciously for Mavunga to head home.

The City Fathers failed to breach the Yadah defence marshalled by Sydney Linyama, Morris Musyakuvi, Chitereki and Mucheto. Even in the second half it was Yadah, who had the better of the exchanges.

Lloyd Chitembwe was disappointed with the result, which leaves Harare City in real danger of relegation with two difficult fixtures remaining, against Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum.

“Naturally, it’s disappointing to lose but I am more disappointed by the performance of the team. I don’t think we are going to be relegated because I am one person, who doesn’t look at the negative side of things. I can only improve when I look at the positives,” Chitembwe said.
