THE Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) says it has made it a strategic goal to regularly update its curriculum in order to keep it relevant to the demands of the industrial ecosystem.
The organisation's country coordinator, Martha Gapa, stated in an interview with NewsDay Business on the sidelines of ESAMI's breakfast meeting on Tuesday that the institution was aware of the demands of industry.
“As a progressive Pan African institution, ESAMI has taken the strategic intent of continuously updating its curriculum so that it remains alive to the needs of the industrial ecosystem, be it in the public sector or the private sector,” she said.
Gapa said they have generated excellent graduates who have excelled at providing the best service in both the private and public sectors.
“Our programmes are put to quality assessments by accrediting institutions such as ZIMCHE (Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education) in all our ten member states, and we have taken these processes as a platform to incorporate the emerging needs from each of the member states and come up with synthesized graduates who reflects the needs of a pan African economy.
“ESAMI has a very rich alumni in Zimbabwe and we are proud to mention that most of our graduates have gone on to occupy very significant positions in both the private and public sector and have become transformative captains of industries. We have quite a number of our alumni heading international organisations.”
She also exhorted professionals to improve their careers through ESAMI programmes, which will strengthen their leadership capabilities and change to meet the new demands of the modern industry.
“To professionals aiming to advance their career and enhance their leadership and management skills, ESAMI offers the opportunity to undergo programmes that are not only centred on getting a paper qualification but moulding and coaching a leader that will bring transformation and relevance to the emerging needs of today's industry.
