ANGLICAN Diocese of Manicaland Bishop Eric Ruwona has said is happy with unity in church saying this was crucial for spirutual growth.

Ruwona made the remarks at the installation of the dean of the Anglican Diocese of Manicaland and rector of St Johns Cathedral Reverand, Fortune Kuzinya in Mutare on Saturday.

Kuzinya replaced Luke Chigwanda who is now the general secretary of Anglican Council of Zimbabwe.

The new dean was showered with presents in cash and kind.

The Mothers Union were also part of the proceedings.

Ruwona addressed his congregants at the installation of the new dean at St John's Cathedral where he said he was happy for Kuzinya who would also be part of his adviser.

"We are here in this together, we need a sound church system, the dean will be my adviser and is very crucial to me.

"We need true leadership in church, if there is no true leadership then there will be no peace. I am happy with the unity in church this is a good fertile ground for spiritual growth," he said.

Ruwona added, "As a church we need to continue to support each other and that is good for the church," he added.

On the same day, Ruwona—who has been accused of having a workaholic personality—went to Zongoro in the Mutasa district for church business.

One congregant Taurai Machingura saluted Ruwona saying they are blessed with a good leader.

"This man (Bishop) works very hard for the church, sometimes we feel for him, he is just a workaholic," he said

The Anglican Diocese of Manicaland is one of the biggest churches in the country.
