The supremacy of the Word of God

We are not of this world. This is the reason we munch the rightly divided word of truth whenever we are not at work or some restricted space.

Believers and nonbelievers, rich and poor must deal with pressure in this world. For the believer or the born again, the rightly divided word of truth gives us peace so that we deal with the pressures of this world without fear and panic. The Bible teaches us to function from a place of rest. We should not panic nor have anxiety and carry our burdens and filled with worry. That is what the devil wants but we stick to the Word.

I like what Jesus told us in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Please cheer up, don’t be sullen. We can as well quote another assurance in John 17:11,14-15, “[11] And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. [14] I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. [15] I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.”

We are not of this world. This is the reason we munch the rightly divided word of truth whenever we are not at work or some restricted space. Let us hear it from Hebrews 4:12, The Passion Translation, “For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone [joint] and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts.” The Word of God is alive, and we shall eat the good of the land.

God speaks his word, then we, in agreement, also speak his word and it becomes a two-mouthed sword. This from Greek is homologeo meaning we speak the same as. Soul and spirit are the immaterial parts of every person that make us who we are, joint and bone marrow are the physical aspects of our existence. All of this combined forms our humanity. God’s Word has the ability to uncover our hidden aspects and make them known.

We will be over and not under the circumstances because we have the living Word in us and can bring to life dying marriages, collapsing businesses or any situation that is getting out of control. We can abnegate on wishful thinking but can't reverse the promises of God which are called — epangelia — in Greek, meaning, self-fulfilling. The promises are self-committing, the moment they came out of the mouth of God they became self-fulfilling.

They don't need our aid; that's why it's called the finished or accomplished work of Christ. It's Jesus plus nothing else. It's unearned, undeserved, unmerited and humanly unattainable favour of God the Father, Grace.

The Word of God is alive. We are neither cancelling nor reversing our agreement with God the Father concerning our destinies because they're Word based. We know the potency of the Word of God. We are sons and daughters of faith, we last the distance. We abide with Hebrews 10:39, “But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition [destruction]; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”

The Word of God is supreme. Let us look at more verses showing the puissance of the Word of God. Isaiah 55:11 tells us, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void [empty, without fruit], but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” In this world we live in, the living Word of God is the answer. The Word is powerful and supreme. He will do it because He has already done it in Christ.

Isaiah 45:23a strengthens us, “I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return,“ God is reliable, trustworthy and faithful. He is life and truth. He's a Man of His Word, that's integrity. Please note that He said it and so we say it. We know that Christianity is a speaking Faith.

Remember please the Genesis principle, Genesis 1:3, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” He was sowing the Word. We always speak right. Furthermore we know that money, cars, houses, etc are not the seed. Luke 8:11, “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.” Let us speak it and keep saying it. We sow or seed the Word and see money, cars, houses, etc coming. Furthermore we give generously with a cheerful heart.

In His earthly ministry, Jesus was saying what the Father said. We taught that confession of our faith is called homologeo in Greek, that is, speaking the same as. As long as the vision you're pursuing is tied to the Word and promises of God, don't backtrack. Speak your plans into reality.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:35, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” In simple terms, nothing can be done to stop anything that is Word based.

Watch this. Remember we said that salvation is a calling into the blessing of God. We read Numbers 23:8,20, “[8] How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? [20] Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.” Please read the whole story.
