Man was given dominion over three areas of life. He was given dominion over fish of the sea, over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
These were areas God determined if man had dominion in them, he could live a fulfilled and blessed life.
But looking at these areas naturally without seeking the mystery behind them, one may not find the essence and importance of having dominion over them.
Being in the 21st century, why would I need to have dominion over the fish of the sea or even the fowl of the air and the creepers upon the earth, one may ask.
There is more to having dominion over the fish of the sea than what men understand.
When you look at the Wright brothers, even at how Wilbur got inspiration by his observation of birds.
That allowed him and his brother to be recorded as the first men to build a motor-operated flying machine.
These men were able to fly because they gained dominion over the fowl of the air. When one rules a domain, he has an understanding of his domain.

The Bible in Proverbs says: “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”
The best treasures are hidden and it takes those that are willing to seek out and dig deep to acquire them. Imagine what it took for the Wright brothers to build that machine, even the years they worked on it.
For one to be asked to dominate something means there is some form of resistance.
These men were willing to sacrifice so much for them to have dominion over the fowl of the air. By their sacrifice they unlocked secrets that allowed men to fly like the fowl of the air.
When you look at the airplane and how it has advanced, you will be surprised how engineers still follow some of the concepts that were left by the Wright brothers because what these two did was not just build this machine, but they tapped into the dominion God mentioned.
And for men in our time to come up with even new developments from the ones left by the Wright brothers, they also have to have dominion over the fowl of the air.
The sea also has so many secrets it has not yet revealed to man. We can say men have not yet dominated the fish of the sea.
Men assume that when God said have dominion, it was limited to them having authority over wild animals.
But our dominion over the fish of the sea is beyond just training fish to follow men’s commands.
There are attributes about the sea man has yet to master. If men can have dominion over the sea, it means he gains knowledge of space and how to build in space because both environments are almost similar.
We can have dominion over these three areas for the third area man has dominated, but in his domain he has destroyed and failed to take care of it.
But I believe there is so much even on the land we live in that we have not fully taped into.
A great man of God once said God can give you wisdom to extract fuel even from sand.
That is to show there is more even in this domain that man has not yet mastered. It’s time we unlock the mystery behind God's instruction to have dominion over these amazing areas. God bless you.
