CHISUMBANJE-BASED league debutants Green Fuel caused the biggest upset of week 16 round of matches after they floored Harare giants through a Nqobile Ndlovu second half strike in an entertaining fixture at Gibbo yesterday.
Dynamos were in a good nick after winning three of their last four matches while the other one was a goalless draw against defending champions FC Platinum to bring their title challenge back on track.
But the defeat to relegation-threatened Green Fuel could see the Glamour Boys fall nine points behind log leaders Highlanders if the Bulawayo giants manage to beat Manica Diamonds at home today.
Dynamos were made to rue a penalty miss by Donald Dzvinyai late in the first half, which could have given them a slender lead at the break.
Coach Herbert Maruwa was disappointed after the defeat.
“It was a tough match. We got our chance in the first half. We got a penalty which was missed, so normally in football when you don’t utilise your chances you get punished,” Maruwa said.

“We were punished by a silly header, but we have to quickly go back to the drawing board to make sure we come right in the next game.
"But I am very disappointed with the way we applied ourselves especially having come from a win against Chicken Inn and then we come here and lose to a team, which is in the relegation zone.
“Maybe mentally we are not up there. We need to make sure we don’t underrate any teams,” he added.
Dembare dominated the first half and had an early chance through Arthur Musiiwa, who would go on to hit the woodwork soon after the half-hour mark.
The visitors won a penalty on the stroke of half time after Keith Murera was hacked down in the box.
Up stepped Dzvinyai to send the spot kick over the bar.
The Glamour Boys were made to pay by a Ndlovu-headed goal in the 70th minute.
After the win Green Fuel managed to crawl out of the relegation zone.
“We needed this. Sitting in the relegation zone is not a good thing. I am happy for the team first of all, and I am also happy for the supporters. We played well in the first half.
“They could have gone one up with a missed penalty and that was going to be the turning point. But the moment they missed the penalty gave us confidence to claw our way back into the game and we scored the goal and we won.” Green Fuel coach Rodwell Dhlakama said after the match.
