Golf Zone: AAT applauds Royal Harare’s support for golf

The hospitality group said it was proud to be associated with Royal Harare after holding its annual Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit (VFAPU) golf day fundraiser at the facility for more than a decade.

Africa Albida Tourism (AAT) has commended the longstanding support of golf in Zimbabwe by the Royal Harare Golf Club.

The hospitality group said it was proud to be associated with Royal Harare after holding its annual Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit (VFAPU) golf day fundraiser at the facility for more than a decade.

AAT chief executive officer, Ross Kennedy said: “Congratulations to Royal Harare Golf Club on their 125th Anniversary. We are proud to have been associated with Royal Harare Golf Club since we started hosting the VFAPU golf days in 2001 to raise much needed funds to help conserve the environment and wildlife of Victoria Falls.

“These golf days, which are organised, run and sponsored by AAT, took place at the Royal Harare Golf Club every year for more than a decade,” Kennedy added.

Like Royal Harare Golf Club, AAT proudly supports Zimbabwean golf, appointing professional golfer Scott Vincent as global brand ambassador to its flagship property, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Kennedy said.

Vincent, who is based in the United States, who has a peak world ranking of 78, plays on the Japan Golf Tour, where he has won three times in the Asian Tour and LIV Golf circuit.

"He is passionate about Zimbabwe, wildlife and conservation, and we hope that others in the global golf arena will share that appreciation and choose to visit our amazing natural wonders and resources."

AAT operates a portfolio of properties in the iconic travel destination of Victoria Falls, namely Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls Safari Club, Victoria Falls Safari Suites, Lokuthula Lodges, The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show and the Victoria Falls Safari Spa.

All are located on the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate, just four kilometres from the Victoria Falls, the world’s largest waterfall, and are renowned for their unrivalled setting surrounded by African bush, wildlife and offering panoramic views.

The sunset-facing 72-room Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, which is built on a plateau, overlooking the Zambezi National Park, and a wildlife-rich waterhole, features the Buffalo Bar, MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant, a picturesque swimming pool and a fitness centre.

The premium 20-room Victoria Falls Safari Club, which offers a personalised butler-style concierge service, boasts a two-tiered swimming pool and a modern fine dining restaurant.

The six spacious double-storey two- and three-bedroom Victoria Falls Safari Suites, set in a natural bush environment, overlook a small private waterhole which attracts bushbuck, warthog and a rich variety of birds.

The value-for-money two and three-bedroom Lokuthula Lodges, which may be booked either on a full self-catering or a bed and breakfast basis, are set in beautiful gardens which include a swimming pool and children’s play facilities.

At the Boma – Dinner & Drum Show food and music combine to bombard the senses with the tastes, sights and sounds of Africa.

This “must-do” feast of fun includes a four-course dinner, as well as the only restaurant-based interactive drumming show in Zimbabwe.

Victoria Falls Safari Spa, the largest and first purpose-built spa in Victoria Falls, nestled in peaceful indigenous woodland, rich in birdlife, offers manicures, pedicures, facials, body treatments, massages, hairdressing and makeup services.
