Highlanders’ season-opening victory over Dynamos at BF on Sunday gave them confidence, but head coach Kelvin Kaindu remains cautious.

BULAWAYO will witness two derbies this weekend as Bulawayo Chiefs host Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium, a day after Chicken Inn entertain newly-promoted Arenel Movers at Luveve.

With facilities in Harare not ready to host Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches, Dynamos make another trip back to BF where they will host Hwange on Saturday

Highlanders’ season-opening victory over Dynamos at BF on Sunday gave them confidence, but head coach Kelvin Kaindu remains cautious.

The Ninjas lost their opening game of the season on the road against Green Fuel. Bosso will be hoping for their second victory on the trot.

Kaindu is back at Highlanders, where he played and later served as head coach between 2012 and 2013. The team missed out on winning the coveted league title during Kaindu’s first stint as coach.

Kaindu has blended youth and experience at Highlanders where he brought in the likes of Reason Sibanda and Brian Mlotshwa from Arenel Movers and Hwange, respectively and retained youngsters Gillian Nyathi and Prince Ndlovu.

From their junior ranks, Highlanders promoted Talent Dube and Nigel Banda. They also signed Marvin Sibanda, a former Bantu Rovers midfielder, who last played for a club in the lower leagues in the US.

Thulani Sibanda bounced back as head coach at Chiefs after a stint with Triangle.

He has a new squad after most of Chiefs’ key players left the club last year.

Chicken Inn are also beaming with confidence after edging Caps United.

On Saturday, Arenel Movers forced a draw with Champions Ngezi Platinum Stars.

In other games, Ngezi Platinum host FC Platinum at Baobab on Saturday while Simba Bhora, who beat Manica Diamonds in Mutare last weekend, are back home at Wadzanai Stadium to host Green Fuel.
