Dube believes Dlodlo will bring with him a wealth of experience to Highlanders.

FORMER Highlanders chief executive officer (CEO) Nhlanhla Dube has given the thumbs up to the club for appointing marketing expert Sihlangu Dlodlo as the new Bulawayo giants’ chief.

Dlodlo, a Highlanders life member, takes over from Ronald Moyo, who did not renew his contract, which expired on March 31.

Dube believes Dlodlo will bring with him a wealth of experience to Highlanders.

“Hearty congratulations to Sihlangu Dlodlo on his appointment as the new, next, fourth in the line of the new dynamic of club CEO at Highlanders. I wish him all the best as he adds another layer, another line of bricks in this continuous construction of tradition at Number 50 Robert Mugabe Way,” Dube said.

“I fear not for him. His giftedness is well-known to me, and he certainly has gathered enough weight from corporate placements and involvement. I doubt not that while football is straining by nature, he has got enough dexterity in his toolbox and skill sets to do the very best of the time he will be running things.

“Congratulations to him. We will always be available, those of us and many more, for any pouncing of ideas, cross-thinking and pollination. His success is going to be a success for all of us.”

Dlodlo is a former Premier Soccer League secretary-general and ex-Bantu Rovers general manager.

Before his appointment at Highlanders this week, he was the general manager at Kings and Queens Funeral Services, a position he held from November last year and has also been a sales and marketing executive at the company.

Dlodlo, who has served at Highlanders before, is a former Class 1 referee and match commissioner.

A strategic marketing consultant, he has worked at Innscor Africa as an executive sales and marketing manager and at Lobels in a similar capacity.

Dlodlo holds a Master of Commerce in Marketing Strategy degree with the Midlands State University and a BComm Honours in Entrepreneurship qualification with Lupane State University.
